Mary C. Youssi is an attorney at Walny Legal Group, LLC, with offices in Milwaukee and Elm Grove. Her practice focuses on estate planning and administration, probate, asset protection planning, and elder law—including adult guardianship and protective placement.

Mary prepares estate planning documents such as wills, revocable trusts, marital property agreements, powers of attorney, HIPAA waivers, and special needs trusts. She also handles special administration and probate matters, and has extensive experience drafting petitions for both temporary and permanent guardianship and protective placement. She represents family members and corporate guardians in cases where an adult is no longer able to make independent decisions due to incapacity or impairment.

Mary also works collaboratively with other attorneys at Walny Legal Group on long-term care and disability planning. This includes implementing strategic gifting strategies, establishing special needs trusts, and using pooled and community trusts (e.g., Wispact or Life Navigators), as well as ABLE accounts.

Prior to joining Walny Legal Group, Mary practiced civil litigation defense, where she sharpened her skills in legal research, writing, oral argument, and client advocacy. She represented a large hospital system as petitioner in guardianship and involuntary psychotropic medication matters—gaining invaluable courtroom experience that now informs her work in estate and elder law. Mary applies the same attention to detail in both document drafting and courtroom representation.

A Milwaukee-area native, Mary graduated summa cum laude from UW–Milwaukee with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and English, and a Minor in Spanish. She earned her Juris Doctor from Marquette University Law School, along with certificates in Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution.

While at Marquette, she served as an Article Editor for the Marquette Benefits and Social Welfare Law Review and sat on the executive board of the MULS Moot Court Program, achieving success at both the intramural and national levels.

Mary is a member of:

  • State Bar of Wisconsin – Elder Law Section

  • Milwaukee Bar Association – Probate Bench-Bar Committee

She also volunteers as a Moot Court judge and coach for current Marquette Law students.

Outside the office, Mary spends her time with her husband and two children, and teaches at the Milwaukee Irish Dance Studio in Shorewood.
